About AstroMitra

AstroMitra is an AI astrology companion. There is no human astrologer here, and we will never pretend otherwise.

What makes it different is what sits underneath. Most AI astrology asks a language model to guess your Rashi from your date of birth — which it cannot reliably do. We compute the real chart: sidereal planetary positions from published astronomical algorithms, using the Lahiri ayanamsa that Indian astrologers use. The AI then interprets those genuine placements.

It matters for an unglamorous reason. If the chart is real, we can be honest. We can tell you that your Moon sits in a particular nakshatra because it does, and we can tell you when we are not sure — like when your birth time is too approximate for the ascendant to mean anything.

What we will not do

No invented astrologers

The guides you can pick between are writing styles with names, and every screen says so. No stock photos of strangers, no fabricated years of experience, no "12 astrologers online now".

No fear as a sales tool

Doshas and hard placements are described as tendencies within a tradition, calmly, with any cancellation mentioned in the same breath. We do not frighten people and then sell them the remedy.

No remedies for sale

We will not tell you to buy a gemstone, a puja or a yantra. That is where most astrology businesses make their money, and it is the part we are not willing to do.

No surprise walls

The number of free questions is on screen before you spend one. The price is shown before you pay. Nothing counts down at you.

No selling your data

Birth details are personal in a way an email address is not. They are not for sale, at any price.

How the chart is computed

Planetary positions come from standard astronomical series — VSOP87 for the planets and ELP2000 for the Moon — converted to sidereal longitudes with the Lahiri ayanamsa. From those we derive the Rashi, the Nakshatra and pada, the Lagna, the Navamsa, the Panchang at birth, and the full Vimshottari dasha sequence.

None of that is asked of the AI, and none of it changes between two people with the same birth details. Ask the same question twice and the placements underneath are identical, because they are arithmetic.

The interpretation is where the AI works — and only there.
